Filemaker is $300 for one user, the Advanced version allows Runtimes to be created and costs $500. Server version is $1000.
Runtimes do not require Filemaker, support only one user, and can be sold royalty free.
I created a Print Job Tracking database over several years of updating and improvements for an Advertising Agency downtown (Bondo & Remer - out of business, now) I was paid several thousand dollars over that time.
I created a Print Job Management system for Signet Press over a similar period of time and was paid several thousand dollars.
Signet Press merged with Star Printing and I translated the database to the new system.
My first free promotional Runtime will be a "My Passwords" database for people to keep track of UserNames and Passwords as well as software serial numbers. This Runtime will have links built in for my services, other databases, and other offerings.
I am trying to finish a Seattle Veterans KnowledgeBase Runtime, it will run from a USB Flash Drive.
Designed to help homeless veterans, any veteran really, navigate the complexities of the VA system.
My intention is to give it away Veterans and attempt to sell it to Veteran's Service Providers (Case Managers and Administrators.
One of my "roommates" is attending Bellevue College through the VA. He got an intern job with the Veterans department at the college. He mentioned the database to his prospective boss, and showed the copy I had given him. His boss is seemingly very interested and I am trying to get it to a state where I can distribute it more widely.
It uses the PortableApps system to allow them to walk up to any Windows computer and have their files, links, bookmarks, email, and documents on a Flash Drive. I have shown it to two or three people, and each seemed to be impressed.
The Website to help promote it is http://shorelineveterancenter.weebly.com/
Local Web Promotion is my other project. I have done this for 4 people, all seemed happy with the results.
The websites promoting it are http://localwebpromotionseattle.weebly.com/ and http://seattlewebpromotion.weebly.com/
